Execulink celebrates anniversary with Canada Day bash

Oxford County’s homegrown telecommunications company celebrated its 120th anniversary this week by going back to its roots.
As part of its ongoing anniversary tour, Execulink Telecom took part — and sponsored — the Canada Day celebrations in Burgessville, the Norwich Township village where the company was founded in 1904. As part of the Canada Day festivities, Execulink provided free ice cream to attendees, hosted a “blast-from-the-past” technology display and offered some exciting giveaways.
The tech display showcased the evolution of telecommunications over the past 12 decades, highlighting how far the company and its technology has advanced since it began as a small local telephone company.
“We are incredibly honoured to celebrate our 120th anniversary with the wonderful community of Burgessville,” Execulink CEO Ian Stevens said in a release. “Being part of this community for so many years has been a rewarding journey, and we are grateful for the continued support and trust.
“Sponsoring the Burgessville Canada Day celebration and sharing this milestone with the residents reflects our commitment to giving back and staying connected with the communities we service.”
Execulink was headquartered in Burgessville for most of its 120 years before relocating its main office to Woodstock in early 2013.
As part of the anniversary tour, Execulink also plants to visit and celebrate with more area communities in the coming months. Future events are planned in Thedford, Strathroy, Kettle Point, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg before culminating with a Woodstock bash in late October.
